To help celebrate TQHF's mission and our 2009 Triple Anniversary, Deb Roberts Tours/Quilt Cruise for
a Cause has offered to make The Quilters Hall of Fame one the recipients of its first Quilt Cruised for a
Cause 2009.

To that end, Roberts has planned an incredible opportunity to attend one of Europe's premiere quilt
events, the British Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, England (August 21-24), followed by a 12 day British
Isles quilting cruise on-board the beautiful Crown Princess August 24-Sept 5. An exciting group of quilt
teachers, professionals and historians are being gathered to share during this event, including TQHF
Honoree Yvonne Porcella, Kathy Kansier, the United Kingdom's Sandi Lush and more!

Three of the 39 Honoree of The Quilters Hall of Fame are themselves British: author and teacher Averil
Colby; Shiela Betterton, author and former curator of Textiles at American Museum in Britain at Bath;
and Amy Emms, the renowned English quilter and teacher who revived Durham quilting in England and
was appointed a Member of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1984 by Queen Elizabeth for her "services to
quilting."

The Quilters Hall of Fame is delighted to share the news with you of this exciting cruise in hopes of
raising awareness of the great internationally respected craft of quilting and to salute TQHF's three
British Honorees.
