Bertha Stenge: One Woman's Life in Quilts (1891-1957)

Friday July 21, 2017 9:30am-10:30am- In 1980 Bertha Stenge was among the first honorees inducted into TQHF.  In 1999, her masterpiece quilts “The Quilting Party” and “The Quilt Show” were chosen among the top 100 quilts of the 20th century. Today her quilts reside in major museums.  It’s time to get to know her better.  Merikay Waldvogel has researched Stenge quilts since 1995 when she co-curated an exhibit of Stenge quilts for the Illinois State Museum. This lecture will be held at the Marion Public Library in Meeting Room B.
