For Celebration 2022 Eleanor wants to take you back to the 1930s, to share with you the life and designs of our 2022 Heritage Honoree, Florence LaGanke Harris.

Applique Flowers by Florence LaGanke Harris

Thursday, July 21, 2022, 9:30am - 3:00pm.

Spend the day with charming Nancy Page (alis) Eleanor Burns making dimensional appliqued flowers originally designed by honoree Florence LaGanke Harris.

Bring your sewing machine and machine stitch around fabric flowers paired with fusible interfacing. Trim, turn, stuff, and sew down your beautiful flowers with raw edges turned under!!

Hand Sewing Needle and Pins

Nancy Page Social

Join a Friday night party of fun, quilts, and cookies! Meet Nancy Page in person! (Impersonated by Eleanor Burns) She will teach you how to cut out your own set of exclusive Nancy Page flowers on preprinted fusible paper for raw edge applique. Pack a sharp pair of scissors plus additional supplies below, and a 1930's  Nancy Page Tuesday Club Party hat, just for fun!  As an added treat, the QHF ladies are serving Florence LaGanke's famous oatmeal cookies and tea.

 

Supplies to Bring

(2) 8" squares each of pink, yellow, purple, sky blue, green (different values)

1 yd  Background fabric in white, off-white, or black. From this fabric, cut five 7 1/2" squares for flowers.

Optional: Eleanor will have a limited number of kits available for $20 plus copies of Magic Vine book $20. Donations to benefit The Quilters Hall of Fame will be accepted.
