Cynthia lectures and teaches throughout the United States. She specializes in original wool applique projects as well as unusual combinations of colors and fabrics in her quilt designs. Her quilts have a distinctive appearance and have won many awards including several “Best of Show.” Her quilts have been featured in many magazines and calendars. In April 2007, That Patchwork Place by Martingale published her first quilting book Colorful Quilts - A Journey Through Fabric. Her quilt "Black Eyed Susans" was one of 15 quilts featured in the Martingale Press book Creative Quilts Vol. III. In the past few years several of her quilts were featured on the PBS program Love of Quilting. For ten years she has taught original designs in wool felt applique at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas.

Applique does not have to be needle turned. Have you ever tried fusing a design, rough edge applique, or the very versatile freezer paper methods? Have you seen the quick and easy way of making templates using large Avery labels? Do you know the correct needles and thread to use when hand or machine stitching applique? All of these topics will be presented in this one-hour lecture. This lecture will also include at least two dozen applique quilts guaranteed to inspire even the most die-hard applique haters.
