Sophie Cell Phone Crossbody Bag Workshop
Saturday November 15, 2025, 12:30 – 3:30pm EST Marion Public Library, Maker’s Space 600 S Washington St, Marion, IN
Need a bag to take while walking? Going to a festival? Make this stylish Sophie bag in a hands-on workshop with Kim Innes and travel light with your essentials comfortably at your side.
Learn to work with on-trend materials! In this workshop, you’ll gain confidence sewing with cork fabric or faux leather—beautiful, durable materials that can be intimidating to work with on your own. Kim will teach you techniques and tips for handling these specialty fabrics, from choosing the right tools to achieving professional-looking results. These skills will open up a whole new world of bag-making and home décor projects!
About the Sophie bag: This compact crossbody features an inside ID card slot, adjustable strap with slider buckle, magnetic snap closure, and polished chain strap connectors for a high-end finish. Finished size: 5″ wide, 7-1/2″ high—perfectly sized for your phone, cards, and essentials.
Workshop fee is $80 and includes expert instruction, a complete kit with all materials and hardware, and the Sallie Tomato pattern (a $12 value). This bag is suitable for beginners or experienced sewists alike. This project is perfectly sized for our 3-hour workshop—most participants complete their bag during class.
Space is limited, so register today! Registrations close on November 7. When you register choose your kit from four options of colors and hardware finishes. Kim will bring your kit to class. If you would like to reserve a sewing machine to use during the workshop, leave a note in the order notes section at the bottom of the check out page.
