Tammy Vonderschmitt is the 2023 Indiana State Quilt Guild Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.  Tammy purchased Needle in the Haystack Quilt Shop in the 1990’s. She relocated it from Anderson  to Pendleton Indiana. From there she proceeded to teach classes and quilt guilds in and around the state of Indiana, as well as at at national shows. Many of the people she taught are still quilting and sewing today because of her influence.  She is currently employed in the Marketing Department for Moda Fabrics where she continues to promote fabrics, create kits, work with the Moda designers and teach classes.  She recently returned to Pendleton to conduct a workshop with her original home-town Spring Valley Quilt Guild.
